The Campaign

The campaign is based on national and international scientific research, public statistics and court decisions from European Union courts.

Social importance

Work on digital platforms and its large-scale implications for the fundamental rights of fundamental rights of thousands of workers, for society as a whole and for environmental protection has crossed borders and become a global issue.

This new way of organizing, controlling and managing the work of millions of workers is at the center of public debates in several countries, including Brazil.

Researchers, labour rights bodies, workers' organizations, legislators, courts, governments, international organizations, etc. have paid special attention to platform work.

IBGE data from 2022 showed that at least 1.5 million people worked on digital platforms.

This public statistic confirmed what a large number of scientific studies had already pointed out about the precarious conditions in which work on platforms takes place in Brazil and the huge number of workers involved.

In this context of intense job insecurity on digital platforms, the issue of protecting workers' rights in order to guarantee decent and regulated work takes center stage.

Protecting fundamental labor rights is in line with Sustainable Development Goal No. 8 of the UN 2030 Agenda, the ILO Declaration of Fundamental Principles of Labor and ILO Recommendation No. 198 on Labor Relations.

It is important to emphasize that Sustainable Development Goal No. 8 expresses the importance of protecting fundamental labor rights as one of the pillars for decent and regulated work.
